We LOVE this pool!!
We've had our pool up for a second year now in sunny, hot and humid Mississippi and love it. We don't have to take it down here, though algae filled the pool during winter and we had to empty and refill. Initial assembly was a bit difficult to set up, especially since we had to take it down when it wasn't exactly leveled out the first time. It all fits together nice and tight, which means you definitely need at least two people to put it together. We did purchase a skimmer for it and a pool liner pad to put it on. We also set out two heavy duty tarps underneath the liner pad to protect from weeds. Despite our high humidity here, there is no rust anywhere on it yet. This is our third chlorine pool. We're not pool experts, but we are familiar with pools now having owned three different kinds: metal, inflatable and now this one. Follow the assembly directions, watch the instructional DVD, set up and follow your pool maintenance schedule and enjoy your pool. There's nothing more to it. Do some research on pool maintenance. Some people have complained about the pool. Can't understand why. Is it a $2,000 swimming pool? No. Does it do the job? Yes. We found that once we put a skimmer on the pool, the filter works better and does the job. Overall, for the price, you can't beat what you get. And if you live in a warmer climate, such as southern California or down south, you don't even have to take it down. Last year we began swimming in Mid-May and didn't stop until mid-November: all without a heater.

Should have stuck with the intex
Worst pool ever!! I had an Intex pool and decided this year to go bigger, seeing how the kids have gotten bigger. This was the largest and most affordable for my budget (single mom 4 kids) haven't had it up a week, and 2 of the post have bent. One of them being a leg on the pool, so now I have to drain it after $300 Of water was placed in it. I can't let my kids get back in it knowing that at any time it can break with them in it and potential cause an accident. I also couldn't use my salt water or sand pump that I already had, do to other types of hookups. Plus an additional 71$ for a new skimmer and vacuum. I would not recommend buying this brand.

GREAT POOL & Exceptional Value!

This is a great pool. The poor reviews are because of not enough documentation from manufacturer regarding use and options. It does take a little research to figure it all out. Addressing the concerns on other reviews: *Cheap plastic parts. Yep, there are some cheap looking plastic parts. The clamps are plastic and I considered replacing them with metal clams (which you can do) but these clamps allow you to HAND TIGHTEN, so I no longer have to keep a screwdriver handy beside the pool. *Report that there's no way to attach hose to vacuum or a basket for catching debris - True and False. You can't attach a hose for vacuuming with what came with the pool, but the FlowClear kits available (made by the same manufacturer) cover those bases. I bought the least expensive Flowclear kit and it had everything I needed. The deluxe kit includes a skimmer (which I didn't buy). My background: *We've had an above ground pool for the last 9 years and this year it was time for a replacement so this time we bought the Coleman Power Steel Frame Pool. Strengths: *The frame on this pool is strong and durable and will do its job as long as everything is level. *The lining is very thick on the side walls. The bottom isn't quite as thick as I would have made it, however with the tarp provided for under the pool it is doing it's job. *The PUMP IS QUIET! Weakness: *Inadequate documentation and description inside packaging. *This particular pool doesn't come with a suction vacuum. You need to buy the Bestway Flowclear pool maintenance kit in order to get the adapters you need to connect a vacuum. I bought this inexpensive kit expecting that I would only use the adapters and then buy a better vacuum and pole but was pleasantly surprised to find that further upgrade was not necessary. Tips: *Maintain correct levels of chemicals and cover it (with provided cover or with a solar blanket) to slow fading of the pattern. Keep a water test kit or test strips handy and use them often. Sun eats up chlorine quickly, so chlorinate in the evening when possible. Smelling chlorine does not mean you have too much chlorine. The smell is from the chlorine breaking down organic matter in the pool. It usually means it needs leaves scooped more often or there is urine present. Be sure your testing strips include a reading for both total chlorine and free chlorine. Most pool supply stores also offer free water testing because they are happy to sell you chemicals to balance your pool, however US Deal Mall carries every chemical I need for the summer. Just be sure to stock up before 4th of July because during the most critical part of the summer they tend to be moving the pool supplies out to make way for school supplies! *You will need to purchase a Flowclear (by Bestway, the same manufacturer as the pool) vacuum kit. The basic Flowclear kit includes a vacuum plus the adapters you will need to connect any 1.25" vacuum hose (standard for above ground pools). It also contains a handy adapter that will allow you to connect a 1.25" hose to the connector that returns water from the filter/pump back to the pool. *Don't throw away the plugs that are in the side wall holes. They come in handy to stop water from flowing out during filter maintenance. *BE SURE YOUR GROUND IS LEVEL and that you clear away all of the little stones and anything else that may not only puncture the bottom but could cause added wear on any raised areas. *Use a level (or a "level app" on your phone if you don't have a regular level) as you fill your pool to make sure your legs are straight. *Be careful using the chlorine floaters. They're handy, but I can tell you by experience that if one of the kids manages to knock a chlorine tablet out onto the bottom it will not only bleach that spot, but will weaken the spot where the concentrated chlorine was on the bottom. *If you keep your chemicals balanced, scoop up the leaves, and run the filter like you're supposed to, the water will stay crystal clear. That said, with dirty kids, vacations, and busy schedules we all lapse from time to time. If you find yourself with a difficult water problem you can't manage consider the cost of refilling the pool before you spend excessive amounts on chemicals. One year I spent $150 on various chemicals to treat one specific algae problem. In the end I let the chlorine evaporate, hooked the water hose to the pool and used the pool water to water the lawn, cleaned the pool with bleach, and refilled it with $75 worth of water. I wish I had stopped earlier and emptied.

People

I'm amazed by the comments first for the price this is an amazing pool. I bought a saltwater pump with a sand filter skimmer basket and a pool vacuum to add to my maintenance and we have enjoyed beautiful sparkling water. If you've owned s pool before you know that this large of a pool for this price only includes basic maintenance items. Be prepared to purchase upgrades or go buy a little pool.

Awesome pool for the money

This is a great pool but yes filter is less than desirable, watched a YouTube video and went to eBay bought new skimmer for 20 bucks and a new sand filter and pump for 116.00 bucks delivered, took 30 min. to install. Now water is super clean, also bought hose and vacuum for 60 buck at Lowes now I can vacuum and backwash pool. I suggest the upgrades but still a great value for the money.

Some frustrations

We decided to upgrade from a Coleman 16'x48" pool which we used for 3 summers and kept up through 2 winters without any special treatment and probably had many more years of life left in it, but wanted something bigger as the kiddos are growing. Because we had such an awesome experience with that pool, we wanted to stick with Coleman and upgraded to this pool. For the most part, it's a great pool. It's big enough to accommodate our family of 6 and our extended family with ease. We upgraded to a stair entry system and were able to use our sand filter from our 16' without problems. My biggest issue with this pool is the outlets. Dinky filter covers slide into the dual outlets which connect from separate hoses to one hose and then to the filter. They don't have turning valves to cut off the water and they leak because the rubber stoppers don't fit correctly. Unfortunately, there is no way to upgrade to better valves without cutting the liner because the holes are too small. At this point, I'm ready to do just that. I will definitely keep in mind the outlets and inlets next time we are in the market for a pool and probably explore different options outside the Coleman brand.

Trust miss placed

I have had the pool now for 2 weeks. Was really excited to finally get something my kids and my self could swim in at home. We went out and leveled the yard and bought sand to lay down everything that it had recommended. Then went out and talked to a pool supply store to make sure we took care of it properly. All and all including the price of the pool I spent around $1700 only for the frame to bend on us(one on top and 5 legs). Tried looking up replacement parts and I might as well buy a new pool and that is soo not in my budget. Way to go Coleman for ruining our summer I would never recommend this pool

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I bought this pool thinking what a great value...boy was I wrong. From the pool, filter, set up, customer service, etc...I would give it a negative five. There is no way to attach hose to vacuum or a basket for catching debris. Once you remove the filter it's nearly impossible to get the top back on so a good portion of all that money spent filling it has ran out of the pool. Set up instructions are in 3 different books including set up for a bubble top pool. Calling customer service, thats a joke. They are very rude and no help what so ever. Ive always had an intex pool and when this goes bad i will go back with an intex. Needless to say I am very disappointed with this product and I do not recommend to anyone.

We are sorry to hear this, This pool is sold with a starter maintenance kit and sometimes customers do want to upgrade to a deluxe maintenance kit or they already have a maintenance kit that they want to use with their pool. The starter maintenance kit includes the beginners pool vacuum, and skimmer net, but does not include the surface skimmer (basket for catching debris). We have a couple of videos that show how to use the basic maintenance kit so that it can work properly. You mentioned that it was almost impossible to get the cap back on and that a good portion of your water got out, Please make sure that your pump is turned off and that you close and stop the water flow from the pool to the pump before you open the filter pump, to prevent the water from getting out of the pool trough the pump once you remove the cap, it will also make putting the cap back on very easy. Please call our customer service department and ask for a manager, our products are good and we want to make sure you are able to use them to its full potential, we strive for excellent customer service and we want to make sure all our customers are happy.
