Use as directed; should be no problems...
I use this weekly in my Coleman Above Ground Pool of nearly 15,000 gals, which for me means using 1 and half bags per week. I used to mix it in a bucket of water first and then add into pool. It worked, but not all of it dissolved resulting in some bleaching of our pool liner. I then began adding into our skimmer basket, which is the Preferred method and no more problems with bleaching the liner. When I see a green tint of algae in pool, I double shock also through the skimmer. No more bleached surfaces. For what you get and the price, this can't be beat. Shop around and see for yourself. All powder shock has a problem not dissolving, which causes bleached liners. That problem isn't particular to this brand. I've tried several others that are higher in price and have the same problem. Once I add to skimmer basket no more problems.

Beware! Cheaper is not better
Terrible, left a nasty layer of sticky film around my pool. Did not dissolve, even after stirring for a long period of time before pouring it in the pool. I will never buy this brand again. Cheaper is not always better. Lessoned learned.

When funds are low and you need affordable shock, this is my go to brand. Now that we are in the rainy season, it's effective to use after a downpour to keep algae at bay

Good product

First I bought the leading brand. Second time after careful chemical comparison, I bought it. It does the job 100% as the more expensive brand. I have an above ground pool. 4,500 sq. cubic ft., water. I use half of the package, every, 3-4 days. I spread it all around the pool and with the skimmer I make sure it doesn't stay on the bottom of the pool. The brand name was the same. It's a good product but the package is not colorful and the brand not familiar, but, it does the job and save money.

this product does the job it is suppose to do

I have use this product for quite a few years... seems you are not stocking as many products of their's as you use to. you should go back to selling this product again, the other one you are selling only gets people in trouble... cost me hundreds of dollars to get the copper our of my above ground pool....

Pool Essentials Shock

The shock does not dissolve for a considerable amount of time (4-6 + hours). Lays on the bottom of the pool. It does seem to work but it takes 24 hours to dissolve. I am using the remainder up but found that a gallon of liquid bleach for the dollar store works just as well. Noticeable difference between name brand and this US Deal Mall generic.

Hi Happyguy, We do not recommend pre-dissolving this product due to its slow dissolve rate. This product works best when applied to the pool per label directions. If you have any further questions, please contact us at 251-876-0943. We are available Monday through Friday, 8am to 8pm Eastern Standard Time.

Only in a pinch

This product doesn't dissolve. If you sprinkle it into your pool, you will vacuum it up the next day. If you try to put it into a bucket or a container so that it dissolves before you put it into your pool, it will clump at the bottom. The only way I have been able to use it is, to put it into the skimmer or the tablet dispenser. Neither of these are recommended. However, it does work if you can get it to dissolve. This product is like putting sugar into cold tea.

BUY ANOTHER BRAND!!!

Bleached the surface of my pool liner a white/tan color.....!!!!!!! I used this product for the first time since using another known brand for over a year without any discoloration. I wish I had read the reviews on here first. Next time I'll pay a few extra $$$ and buy the other brand. Lesson definitely learned!

Hi Delcina, We are sorry to hear about your recent experience. However, if used according to label directions, this product should not bleach pool liners. If you have any questions, please call us at 251-876-0943.

Don't buy!

Doesn't work. Doesn't completely dissolve and left a stain on my liner. I have used 7 packs in a week and a half, and it still won't clear my above ground pool. I have been using a testing kit and it doesn't register a chlorine reading. I will be switching back to Chlorox brand as I never had an issue until using this brand.

1. Pool essentials shock is a chlorine- based shock product. Chlorine itself is an algaecide, so this product can kill algae in the pool. However, for effective pool maintenance, a preventive algaecide should also be utilized to maintain the pool water.

2. All I can say is that's the only chemicals I use and my pool is clear and passes the tests with the strips.

4. It is a sanitizer so yes it kills algae, but it isn't an algaecide. For algae problems, you'll need to add that in addition to. Shock is made to shock the pool with a massive supply of chlorine. Ideally, weekly, after heavy swimming and heavy rain. I shock my pool weekly. When I see a green tint of algae, I double shock it. Once, usually does it. I add a separate algaecide weekly to my pool.
