We needed a safer way to get into and out of our above ground pool. Pool ladder stood over 6 feet high and was not too sturdy. The small (5'x3') pool deck is perfect for a round above ground pool with steel frame. It is not intended to dive or jump from, and only one person should be on the deck at a time. Instructions left a lot to the imagination - were not very clear. But it was such a simple deck, we could figure out how to put it together, even if not correctly done. Also, the picture offered for this small deck as well as the description do not mention that a ladder into the pool comes with it. I searched and found an in-pool ladder of another brand and bought it! Now I am stuck with two in-pool ladders and must return one. Otherwise, it is a nice and attractive addition to our above ground pool, and we hope it will serve us well. PoolDipper
I wanted a small deck so my kids had easier access to the pool. Assembly took some time as should be expected, but was not difficult. Construction is pretty solid. Additional bracing might be useful depending the type of use the deck receives (jumping off the deck puts more strain on it). All aluminum construction so I hope everything remains in good condition for many years. Time will tell. This was more expensive then building my own wood deck, but (in my estimation) much easier to build. Built in a day and ready to use in two days. I made a rectangle made of treated 4x4s staked 2 feet into the ground with rebar. I Then bolted the deck to the 4x4 wood frame. Nice and level and pretty sturdy.
Great little deck for small space
The only thing I would change about this deck is the instructions. They could be a little more clear. The deck is sturdy and enough room underneath to store the pump and salt generator. Makes yard a bit tidier. Can be built by one person.
Need more instructions
Just enough screws and bolts...
The deck itself is well built. Instructions could be clearer. No extra screws or bolts, so be careful.
I would not recommed this item
This deck was poorly made. Although it was sturdy when completely built, within one week screws had come loose on the fence section of the deck. Also there were poorly written directions, if you are not an engineer you would not be able to understand them. The hardware was all just thrown into one bag for each separate box of the deck, which made it difficult to verify that there were the correct materials. Lastly almost all of the "pre-drilled" holes were off. It took over 4 hours to put together with much difficulty, for the amount this item cost, it should have at least had the materials sorted properly, holes pre-drilled in the proper spaces, and directions easy enough for the average educated person to put together.
3X5 Free Standing Pool Deck
Putting this flimsy 3X5' deck together was a nightmare!!!!!! I helped my sister (who purchased it) assemble this monster. The directions are HORRIBLE and provide no good schematic for ensuring the right construction. The directions were difficult to follow because they combined several size decks and did not contain critical information for assembly. Additionally, not all hardware was provided so a trip to the hardware store was required and the pool ladder had to be hacksawed to fit. Having to actually drill some holes in order to assemble is also ridiculous. This was a waste of her money as I cannot foresee this deck lasting for any great length of time. It would have been more cost effective to build a wood deck!!! I would definitely NOT recommend purchasing this deck to anyone!
