Although we haven't had a chance to actually fill it up yet (March in Wisconsin is not ideal for swimming), we did blow it up and had fun doodling. Set up didn't take too long, maybe 5 minutes to unroll and put some air in. Pool seems to be made of good material and is sturdy. My kids were impressed with how big the pool is. It could probably fit our family of 6! Pool does come with 2 doodle pens that each requires 2 AAA batteries. Luckily we had enough batteries lying around to use. It also comes with a tracing sheet of sea animals. My kids sure did have a fun time drawing little sea animals on the doodle pad. The pens work great and the doodles show up really well on the pad. It does come with a little square for holes/patch up. I'm hoping we'll never need to use it! Putting away was also very easy. I used an air pump to take out the air and was able to fold it back up and fit into the box it came in. My kids can't wait until summer to use in the backyard. We are especially looking forward to those warm humid nights so that we would be able to see the doodles and pool glow in the dark.

Awesome pool with cool features!
Kids love it!
The only bad thing about this pool is that it takes a while to inflate unless you have an air pump with the correct attachment.
My kids LOVE this thing. I wanted it so we could use year round and this is perfect. Right now (as we are in upstate NY) we are using it to play in without water and we throw blankets and pillows into it and watch movies! They love being in the pool and playing with their toys. This thing is pretty durable- I have a curious kitty and he wanted to check it out and no problems to report! Don't worry though, it does come with a patch kit if needed!
The kids have also enjoyed doodling with the 2 enclosed little flash lights that create designs on the bottom of the pool. They have LED bulbs so you will have to watch younger kids so they don't shine them in one another's eyes! They take 2 AAA batteries apiece and the batteries are NOT included. There was also a foam stencil sheet included to make designs with the pens; we haven't used this yet but I'm sure we will.
This pool holds 147 gallons of water and when summer arrives we will be drawing underwater with our flashlight doodle pens! The kids are already asking me to fill it with water. Again, this "Doodle Glow Pool" was a huge hit and I would totally recommend it!
Fun, good-sized pool for kids
It is too cold in the Midwest to test out this pool right now, but we inflated it and tested out the glow lights, and my kids loved it. They had a great time playing in it sans water, so I think it will really be a hit this summer when we're able to fill it up.
The pool inflated with our air pump in less than 5 minutes. Very easy set up. The plugs are a nice big size, so deflating it when we were done went pretty quickly as well. The pool is a perfect size for us. My 9-year-old and 6-year old both had plenty of room to spread out and move around in there at the same time. You could add another kid in there too, with plenty of room to splash around. Seems to have a lot more room than other kiddie pools we have tried, but it's not so big that it takes up a ton of room or is too difficult for one person to empty and put away. Just right. Plug in the bottom of the pool should make it easy to drain too.
I wasn't too excited about the glow pens at first -- just didn't expect them to work very well. And putting the batteries in them takes an extra step not included in the instructions. They say to just remove the light cap and insert batteries, but you actually have to use pliers or small scissors to remove another yellow ring under the light cap (see photo). Batteries will not fit unless you remove this ring. Maybe it is supposed to come off with the light cap? But neither of ours did, had to remove these rings separately. Anyway, not difficult, just not as described.
But once working, the glow pens do show up and glow brightly. The kids had a blast drawing freehand with them and using the stencils that come with the pool. Their designs last a few minutes, then disappear, making room to draw more. They really had fun with it. And I think when we add in water this summer, they will be spending a lot of time playing in this pool. Though we've only inflated it the one time, it does seem pretty durable, so I'm expecting it to last through a summer of heavy use.
Great pool. I would highly recommend.
My grandkids picked this pool because they were excited at the idea they could swim at night and have glowing pool lights too. I am not sure that they will get to swim much at night since during the summer it's quite late before it's dark. We have had smaller round pools in the past and this is so much better. The surprising thing about this pool though is that they have played with it without even filling it up with water. It comes with two waterproof lights, like flashlights, that you can “draw” with on a big square on the bottom of the pool. In the dark it glows really well and gradually fades over a few minutes so they can draw new things. A bright flashlight worked to draw with too, but not as well as the ones that came with it. They just wish the glow pad was bigger. FYI -- It doesn't include AAA batteries for the lights. The rest of the pool is pretty typical for a blow up. It is 110” long, 62” wide, and 18” high. I'm surprised how much they like drawing on it though so I think the extra couple bucks it cost will actually be worth it.
Fabulous Water Fun!
This is such a wonderful product. If you're looking for a pool that does more than just hold water=this is it. First of all it is 9 feet long and close to a foot deep. Plenty of room for 4 or 5 adults or 6-7 kids. Now look down--there are stenciled neon designs on one half of the pool's bottom. The other half is for you to create designs on. The pool comes with 2 markers (which do require 2 AA batteries) for you to create your own illuminated designs. There is also a stencil included with several sea shapes if you're not artistic. This means extra fun in the pool when its dark-as if just being a huge inflatable pool wasn't enough. The pool took about 5 minutes with our regular compressor-blowing one this size is really not feasible. There are 2 rings to be filled and would leave several people breathless. We like the rugged construction and it does come with a repair kit as well. I have never seen anything like it. Since we live in the Northeast, there are only a few months where we can use outdoors. However we tossed a blanket on the floor, filled it with plastic playballs and enjoyed it inside. This entertained adults & kids alike. In about 6 weeks we plan on enjoying it outside. We would definitely recommend getting one before swimming season begins near you as it will sell out quickly.
Loads of fun
The H2OGO Doodle Glow Family Pool is fun for the kids. The pool came well packaged in a sturdy box. Along with a 9 foot long pool two LED flashlights were included with repair patch and doodle stencils. The stencils included 7 outlines of seahorse, octopus, jelly fish, starfish, sea turtle, whale, and baby turtle. The LED flashlights require 2 AAA batteries which are not included. It was a little challenging to put the batteries it because you have to remove the seal O ring first and that requires a needle nose pillars. The flashlights do not have a on or off switch. You have to tighten the light cover to turn on and loosen it to turn off. Once you shine the LED flashlight on the stencil, you will quickly see the image come thru. The sides of the pool are tall and large and would be best to blow up the pool with an electrical air pump (same type used to blow up air mattress). The pool measures 110 inches by 62 inches by 18 inches and is large enough for my three children to enjoy day and night. Overall, I like the pool and its large size. It will be loads of water fun during the summer.
Great pool so far
I like the versatility of this pool and that the glow-in-the- dark part allows it to be played with during the warmer months. It is a good size pool. My husband, our 7 month old and myself all fit in it comfortably. We have had no issues so far with leaks.
Can't wait for summer!
This is one cool pool! I (and my daughter) can't wait until summer to try it out! It glows in the dark and you can doodle on it! Amazing! It is big enough for the whole family to get in (it is over nine feet long!) but small enough to be kid friendly. My toddler loves the water and loved the pool when we were on vacation last summer so I know that this will be a big hit with her. Actually my husband was wanting to get an inflatable pool for the both of them to play in so this was perfect. I have not actually put it up yet since it is still too cold out but I opened it and it seems to be made of heavy and durable material that will last for more than one summer like most inflatable or even hard plastic pools usually do. The under water doodling is really cool and adds extra entertainment for the kids as well. My family can't wait summer swimming pool fun! We love it already and I think you will too! Highly recommend this pool! Bring on the warmer weather!
Ok, so I am writing a review on the h2ogo doodle glow family pool. This is a very fun pool for kids. Someone had a great idea here. The pool is over nine feet long! It's actual measurements are 110 inches long, 62 inches wide and 18 inches tall. The pool comes with two doodle pens which require two triple a batteries each, not included. These are basically two stick flashlights that are waterproof. The base of the pool is made with a glow in the dark material. the pool also comes with a rubber stencil sheet that they can lay on the bottom of the pool and the trace the shapes with the doodle pens, resulting in a glow in the dark drawing left behind. One of my favorite features about this pool is the drain plug in the bottom, which is a very nice feature when your done and ready to put it up. Our climate where we live is a little cold for night swimming. So we have to add hot water to keep it warm enough for trying the glow in the dark features at night. But the kids love it. This is a great product and much more fun then the basic pools on the market. It's plenty roomy for our three kids. So I do recommend this pool to anyone with a warm enough climate for night swimming.
Pool tore from the bottom
We loved the pool so much! My son was so excited to get in the next day, but when we went outside we had discovered the wayer leaked all over our backyard. The pool had torn from the plug on the bottom. It is irreparable
