Customer reviews & ratings
Awesome worth it
I'm 50 years old plus a couple years woman. I buildt the pool by myself in about an hour. The only problem was how to setup the filter. Now I'm waiting for the pool to fill with water;) let summer begin
Excellent pool for the price!
Excellent pool. My husband installed it in a couple of hours. So far everuthing is great!
Good deal overall
I bought this pool for my children, who love it! It's very easy to set up. I liked that it included the ladder and pool cover. After a few weeks of being set up, I have a few minor complaints. First, I do not believe the pump is strong enough for the pool. It comes with the 530 gph pump, which according to the pool setup DVD that Intex provides, is recommended for pools 12' and smaller. This pool is 14'. Also, my pool cover ripped within a week of use. I pulled the strings to tighten the covered and the strings ripped through the eyelet holes. The cover is still functional. Overall, for the price, I would recommend this pool.
Good for the price
We purchased this pool based on the customer ratings and the price. It is a good pool for the price, however the pool cover don't last long and is poor quality. The pool has been good. We are having issues with the filter, it is leaking. We had the pool for 3 weeks now. It was easy to set up. You will need two people to put pool together. Make sure that the ground is level as much as possible or the pool will fill unevenly.
Nice Economical Above Ground...But...
Would recommend to a savvy handyman for outlet/intake conversions! If upgraded hose conversion were clear I would give this 5 Stars. Let me say I have purchased and put up 4 Intex pools in the past 9 years. From the 26' diameter x 52" deep to the small 10' diameter x 30" deep. I purchased this 14' x 42" deep as it was a great value (199.00+ free ship) and the perfect size for my grand-kids 3 and 6 years at this time. I have an upgraded 1500gph pump and a saltwater system that I have used on past pools to add. Sadly I CANNOT find a conversion that fits the tiny cheap outlet on this pool. Conversion adapters seem to start at 1.25". The cheap intake/outlet on this 14" pool for me measures 1.00". I could be doing something wrong as I am an old Grammy and not an advanced handyman. I have not set one up in 2 years but this seems to be the most difficult as far as upgrading the filtering/saltwater system is concerned. Set the pool up alone in just over an hour and looks nice even before landscaping around it. Not worth the value or time if you are not savvy enough to figure out upgrading the cheap outlet and intakes. I will not take it down and return it, I'll give it (donate it) to a GA family that can use it during our HOT months and order another. Never one with these cheesy outlets again though. Photos will not load, US Deal Mall has a SMALL acceptance for photos. If there is a solution someone has found please let me know, would love to keep the pool since it's filled with 3000+ gal of water!
A one season Pool
I have owned three intex pools over the years. each one has lasted as least three summe. The last one purchased before this "ultra frame" is still in good working condition, we just needed a larger pool. this pool started rusting the first week, it rusted so bad that it cannot be disassembled. i am so very dissappointed. I spoke with customer service and they said, it is out of warranty, nothing that they could do. I emailed intex they responded with what a great paint job the pool had, and my salt water system should have no adverse effect, but it is out of warranty. So off to the dump it will go. I will never buy anything from this company again! Don't waste your money on this pool unless you can afford to buy a new one every summer
Only lasted one summer
Our excitement has quickly turned to disappointment with Intex products. This pool frame has completely rusted to the point of critical failure at the end of ONE summer. The pool basically self destructed but thankfully my kids weren't in it! It is obvious the metal frame was weakened by the rust causing it to fall apart. We took VERY good care of this pool, including covering it when not in use and careful check of chemical balances and cleaning after use on a daily basis. I don't know if this was a bad "batch" but if you're looking for a quality product, keep looking.
I was initially pleased with the installment process. From set up to how crystal clear the water was within the first two months. However, even after keeping the pool chlorinated and clean the pump stopped working. Unfortunately, I did not purchase a warranty and I can not find a replacement pump! Not happy :(
Leaky pool poor support
We got the pool on Thursday before Memorial Day and set it up on that Saturday. As soon as we had about an inch of water we noticed the leaking. Since the instructions say "Do Not Return to Store" and Intex support is not open on weekends and holidays we had to wait until Tiesday to call. On Tuesday I waited on hold for almost an hour before getting through to Intex's overseas support center. Difficult to understand and rude they started by telling me I only had 15days From the the order date (not delivery date) to make a claim (even though all the paperwork says 90day warranty on defects). After that I had to wait another hour trusting they would email me the form. I submitted it right way with copies of my receipt and shipping documents and had wait 2 more days to get confirmation that they were reviewing it. I called back and asked to speed with someone but they refused my request to speak to a supervisor. I also submitted a complaint on there website and they replied Friday saying that my replacement should ship next week Monday or Tuesday and I could expect it 7-10 days from then. Buyers beware, Intex's appears to have no US based office or support to call or write to and thinks a 3week turn around on a defective pool is acceptible. Hopefully the replacement doesn't leak also
