I was shocked when I saw the rating on this pool. I was looking for a pool for my brother, because he likes ours so much. We bought the intex 22x52 the summer of 2011 we have used it every summer since and it's still in excellent shape. By use it, I have to stress that we are a family of six and we've had everything from extreme active pool parties to teenage boys playing big time wrestling, which I stopped for their sake as well as the pools. The only thing we changed was switching to a ladder thst has a higher weight limit, we passed our Intex ladder onto friends. Our pool has been one of the best purchases we've made. We live in Michigan and leave it up year-round. We lower the water level, add the approximate amount of chemical and cover it for the winter. The following year we take off the cover to find clear water. After adding water we rebalance the chemicals and we're ready for another summer of fun.

Painted the frame
We have had out pool for 3 years. We use the saltwater system and yes it does rust the frame. we took out pool down last year and painted the rust spots with the rustolem spray paint. We will see how long that last.
Thank you intex bit shame on price gougers
We've had this pool for over eight years probably going on 10 or 11 still standing never take it down like you're supposed to just drain it halfway at the chemicals needed refill every summer to top it off it's an amazing pool looking to buy another for our other home way to go intex thank you for An amazing product ! Its a shame people buy them and tripple Prices And sell them on ebay and facebook market sites etc the whole point of this pool being so perfect in price is for People who dont have or dont want to spend $2,000-$5,000 on a pool and people ruin that buy being selfish
We have the 22x52 Intex pool. This is its 3rd year it's delighted us! The secret to this pool is to leave it up all year round taking it down is too hard on the pool. The manufacture does not recommend to leave it up during the winter we do we live in ks are winters are. Cold and icey. We have had no problems leaving it up just drain below the intake outtake holes. And get with a pool supplier to winterize the water no need to cover unless you want to. Take off all hoses and store the pump inside the house. We up graded to a sand filter we also have the over the side skimmer and the automatic Intex pool cleaner all work great! After the winter
This is our third year with this pool
Overall the pool has been great. We switched to a larger sand filter, and it made a big difference. My only complaint, and it's a MAJOR one is: For the first two years we used the salt generating system. Now in it's third year the metal framework is rusting away to nothing. Most of the rail couplings are rotted all the way through and one of the uprights has rusted in half, with more looking like they're ready to do the same. Like I said, the pool is EXCELLENT, but I wouldn't recommend the salt system to my worst enemy. It's very disappointing. We now use liquid chlorine from our local pool supply company, and what a difference1 I seriously doubt the pool will make it through next season, if it holds up when the cover is installed in a few weeks.
I have had my 24"x 52' intex pool for 8 years. The first 5 years we would take it down and for the winter and put it back up in the spring, as we live in Illinois. Of course that rope thing at the bottom was the first to go and then the little plastic pegs that go in the holes at the top started to break. They are very expensive to replace considering they are simply plastic. 6 for $12. We decided to start leaving it IP over the winters. NEVER winterized it, just start fresh every year. Just replaced the shut offs this year for the first time, they were very worn and were breaking. We have definitely gotten our monies worth out of this pool. Very happy with the purchase. We also have the 15ft round that was used only 1 year because we felt our daughter was too small for the larger pool at the time. It's been stored for years, hopefully it's fine. We used the filter system it came with for 5 years and yes it was challenging but have since switched over to a sand filter and that has been the best thing since white bread. Lol. we have added the salt water system this year 2017 so I hope to get a couple more years out of it but not really sure from the horror stories I've read about it rusting the poles out. I took photos but mind you, I have had it since around 2009. I tried to sell it for $100, minus the sand filter of course, on a popular selling app but no one was serious about buying so I just decided to use one more year. I'll try to get rid of it next year or my be even just this it away because my kids are older and have out grown it and moved out. Anyway overall a GREAT PURCHASE!! For some odd reason it won't allow me to add photos even though it states I can upload 2. WOW!!
Decent pool for the price
This is my second Intex pool. The first one was lost to a tornado after it's second year of service. I upgraded from a 16' to a 22' this time. The size is great! I made a concrete patio for it to ensure it is level and stable but I feel this was a good investment in keeping the pool in good condition. I still haven't heard weather I can leave it up during our harsh winters in the midwest, but will continue to research it. The only downfall I have found is the pump. It is not easy to hook accessories up like a vacuum... I feel it would be better suited with a bigger sand filter. I am currently running it with a chlorine system but am debating on switching it to a salt water system. I would like to hear peoples thoughts on the salt water system if anyone has had one for over three years..
Ultra frame corrodes in saltwater pools
I have had my pool for 3.5 yrs and it is time to throw it away! How long should the frame last? Mine is so rusted out, that I am hoping it will last the remainder of the season. This is due to saltwater!
Two Bent Poles
With in a month of setting up our pool one pole bent. We did our best to set it up on level ground. Then yesterday another pole bent. Our previous pool was also an Intex and it lasted 5 YEARS. We are very disappointed. Hoping it last the summer.
After spending hours leveling out the ground (2 days). Installing pool (6 hours). Our pool is leaking at the seams. Could not see until we had water in it. We have to take whole pool back to the store in order to exchange. Not very happy. We are afraid the next will do the same thing. The only good thing US Deal Mall said they will exchange or give us our money back.
