We replaced a 18'x52" ultra frame pool that was great, and a great value...that one came with a sand filter that i wish this one had....but we sold the smaller one and then got this one. We will get the sand filter a little later because the sand filter one the smaller one cant keep up with the additional water in this larger one.....we also had the saltwater system with the smaller one that we will use one this larger one....2 words of advice, one is to use the saltwater system on any pool you get because you can save loads of money in chemicals that you need for a regular pool, two is that you have to have a completely level surface for these pools...we had to put in 8 yards of pulverized dirt to level the yard....then 3 1/2 tons of sand that you should use to help level the area for the pool.....the work and the cost was much cheaper than to have a pool guy come put up a pool!!!...so buy one and enjoy!!

Ultra Frame Pools
Customer reviews & ratings
Big and loads of fun
This will be our second one of these pools. Easy to put up and take down to store. Great size for the family. Especially loved by our golden retriever. We use the salt system, works great. Looking forward to summer, Had to buy steps as the ladder not very sturdy.
Huge Pool, could have a better filter though
We upgraded, this year from an 18' Intex and are very happy with this choice. The people at Intex were very helpful, answering all our questions about the different types of pools, especially about the ultra frame. Only semi-bad thing is the filter and pump. For this size I would have expected a sand filter to be standard with it. With our 18', the size B filter barely kept up with keeping it clean, so I would say to expect to need a bigger one.
Very good above ground pool
This is my second Intex Above Ground pool. Had the other one for 9 years and the kids outgrew it. The new pool has improvements in structure which I like. I was able to put it together virtually by myself. One thing I must caution you on...be sure the ground is completely level. This is very important!
The pool is amazing but the ladder is unsafe..!!#!
Need to upgrade the ladder. Its unsafe! Tips to easy. Not solid for the height.
Great for a beginner
This is a good pool for someone who has never had a pool before. It took almost 25,000 gallons of water though, not the recommended 14,500 that the manufacturer recommended. So that's something you may want to consider is the water cost. All in all, a pool water delivery place charged us upwards of $700+ dollars, so make sure you call ahead and get pricing if you are on a budget!
Good idea, very cheaply made
We purchased this for our family on May 27, 2016. The biggest pool that Wal Mart has. Box was very large and very heavy, but seemed packed fairly well. It was pretty easy to set up, and took about an hour with 2 adults and 2 kids assisting by handing parts and holding a water bucket to make sliding in the metal parts through the vinyl easier (as per the instructions from Intex). The pool holds nearly 15,000 gallons of water so it took about 2 days to fill and cost us $152. On a side note, I am disappointed that the vacuum that comes with the pool is for the vacuum head only and not the hose. The pool was up for about a week when my husband heard a noise come from the horizontal beam. It ripped!! He quickly stabilized the beam by putting a U-Bolt around it (to keep it from entirely ripping ruining the entire pool...). We had to drain the pool entirely! $152 down the drain because of a bad beam. Money which Wal Mart nor Intex reimburses for. I called Intex to file a warranty claim. They said it would be a week before I would get an email with the warranty information and I had to fill that back out and provide a photo of the original receipt. Then another 3 weeks to process the claim. In the mean time they wanted us to entirely drain the pool and put it up until the new parts came in!!! WHAT THE HECK??!!! Just an FYI the pool is only warranted for 90 days after purchase. So if you do purchase an Intex pool on clearance at the end of the summer don't expect Intex to replace any broken or damaged parts when you take it out of the box in the spring. We ended up returning the broken beam to Wal Mart and they fished a replacement from a new pool. Right now the pool is re-filling. Another $152 in the hole. I hope it works. Otherwise I guess we are just out over $1,000. ($713 for the pool and $304 for the water to fill the pool twice!) :/ Long story short. The pool is cheap for the size and very cheaply made. We went into it with realistic expectations of a pool that would last for a couple summers. (We plan on upgrading to a metal frame pool eventually). However, we never expected the quality of the pool to be so poor that after a week a metal beam would actually rip. I gave 2 stars because the pool is fun when it's up and running. But, the quality is pretty poor. I think it's a real gamble if you're going to have a great pool or not.
We have had intex pools for many years but decided to go bigger this year. When we were assembling this, 3 of the top metal bars split in half. We had to reach out to Intex customer service and of course had to speak to someone who I could barely understand because they did not speak english very well. Intex is sending us replacement parts free of charge but i'm concerned if these bars broke during assembly, how are they going to hold up and support 15000 gallons of water?
Poor Product - 14,667 Burst Open in Backyard
Warning... extremely poor product! I purchased this pool (intex 26' x 52") at our local US Deal Mall and had to return it immediately due to a manufacturer defect at the seam which resulted in a leak. Prior to purchase I invested in 4,000 pounds of sand used to professionally set the foundation. After filling the pool 1/4 of the way (12 hours of running water), we noticed the leak. We assumed that this was a defect that would probably be rare and so we took the pool apart and returned it for another one. WRONG ANSWER!!! PART 2 of our new pool disaster... We picked up a 2nd intex 26' x 52" and started all over again... put the pool together, filled the pool completely (14,667 gallons) and used the pool a couple of times before the pool BURST into my backyard. Literally, the pool opens and dumps over 14,000 gallons (which took 48 hours to fill), into my yard in a matter of minutes... and my yard now looks like a pool. I have reached out to INTEX Corp and they have provided me with the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. This project cost us over $2000 and all they can say is "all we can do is send you a replacement liner". I am not interested in a replacement as I already replaced this item. I asked to speak with a manager multiple times and was informed that someone will call me in 24-48 hours. This is completely unacceptable considering the amount of effort and funds used for this project. This is a complete disappointment! Before and after pictures are below (the after is only 14 days after purchase)! Horrible experience!
Well, to start with it was shipped and rec. fairly quickly. We went ahead and did the yard work , prep work and had the pool all put up in no time. Looked huge , we were very excited to fill it . As we started filling it from our hose (all night) which I'm still filling but keeping track of the hours as I am on municipality water... , When we got up in the morning checked on it and noticed somewhere on the back side under neath it was leaking small amount of water....very upset and frustrated had to much time and effort as well as money in to the ground work, pool.to just tear it all down and find the leak ....well UGHHH!! We are almost sure it is coming from the seam. Not sure what to do at this point . Currently trying to find some type of product to dump into the pool to seal it . Not sure if one exists. So this again was a very upsetting ordeal. Hopefully , we will find a solution fast .
