Great steps, alittle difficult to put together
You need 2 people to put it together, however when it says fill with sand, it was difficult and we realized that 1 bag of pebbles worked great. after we put it in the pool, we needed more weight to hold the steps down. but other than that, it works great

So Many Things Wrong
We bought these steps for our 52" deep above ground pool. First, we followed all of the directions to the t and put them together. We assembled them, filled them with sand and immediately noticed that the cheap pvc material had cracked around the seams and sand was leaking out. Also, when we stood them up to place in the pool, they fell apart, not once but 3 times, so we had to keep reassembling them. We put some sealant in the places where the seams failed and put the stairs in the pool, despite putting 50 1lbs of sand total, the stairs still floated up and floated right above the bottom of the pool. Fast forward about 2 weeks and the stairs fell apart in the pool. So I finally had to put screws in the stairs to hold them together and they are still leaking sand which makes it that more difficult to keep the pool clean. Not sure what to do we need stairs so they are still in the pool.

We Love Them...Our Dogs Love Them

Verified purchase

We have an above ground pool attached to our deck. The dogs will jump in & then stand at the side, waiting to be lifted out. After putting in the stairs, it took a little coaxing, but they can now swim over & walk out. No more worries... Putting the stairs together went quite smoothly, until the last step that requires a heavy rubber mallet to pound the rubber bases to the bottom. We didn't have one & tried EVERYTHING to get them to stay on (eventually worked by running them under HOT water to loosen the plastic. put a tiny bit of Dawn detergent around opening and banging them on with a dishcloth-covered hammer). YOU REALLY NEED THE MALLET!!! Also, we bought sandbox sand & it took FOREVER to fill the holes. Not sure if there is a pourable sand available. ENJOY!!!

Pool steps

These steps are perfect. Add more than 25 lbs of sand to each side and they will stay in the water better.

This product was a Mother's day gift, I was a little disappointed that the instructions on assembly were not in the box...my mother had to call the company and the young lady was rude and she hung the phone up in her face when she asked that the instructions be mailed immediately...the issue was resolved, but next time I will be contacted US Deal Mall directly since you sold the product to us..

The ladder took about 2 hrs all holes had to be drilled out, the handrail was same on both sides so had to flip one side so we could put together. Now the top step will not stay locked in when you enter pool it separates. Very disappointed now we have to figure something out to keep it together.

The stairs completely fell apart the first day we used them. They simply ""snap"" together and do not stand up to anyone over 100 lbs. We took them out (which was a major pain) and completely re-worked them with proper braces and now we love them. But do not be fulled by their simple installation. YOU HAVE TO ADD PROPER BRACING TO HOLD THEM TOGETHER. They pop apart and float away. Our daughter hurt her leg and was lucky it didn't REALLY hurt her more than a bad bruise. Like I said, I like them now that my father completely reworked them.

time waster

Verified purchase

very poor quality for the money and too much time to set up, if you want to waste 2 hours with two people trying to fill it up with sand it isn`t too bad of an end product but a normal price for this quality should have been $40 -$50 , was expecting something much better for $181 plus tax.

4. We didn't want to fill the ladder with sand as it would make getting it out for the winter difficult. So we drilled extra holes at thte bottom to allow the ladder to fill with water and attached extra milk jugs filled with sand to the bottom of the stairs with zip ties.

5. Use play sand in the sidewalls of the stairs there are holes with plugs fill the sides with sand and water and they will stay down. It takes about 50 lbs of sand to weigh it down. Good Luck

1. There is a plastic white piece that goes on each hand rail that mounts to a deck. We had ours setting in the pool not attached to the deck, they floated up when we took them out they fell apart .

4. It does not mount to pool. Fill the sidewalls with sand and the plastic arms attach to deck or exterior ladder. If you do not have an exterior ladder or deck level with pool height then you might want to consider a different style ladder.
